Ohio Cannabis Rankings — FAQ

How the rankings work, what the metrics mean, and what to do before you visit a dispensary.

Pure Strain Labs is an Ohio cannabis price intelligence site. We monitor 105+ dispensary menus daily and rank flower products by THC value, price per milligram of THC, and availability — so you can compare deals across the state before you drive.
The value score blends four signals:

Cost per mg THC — weighted most heavily. Lower cost = higher score.
THC percentage — higher potency pushes the score up.
Stock visibility — products shown as in stock score higher than those with unclear availability.
Sale pricing — active discounts add a bonus signal.

Scores run from 0–10. Anything above 8 is a strong value pick; below 8 shows as an amber warning in the table. It is a buying signal, not a medical recommendation.
$/mg THC is the estimated cost for every milligram of THC in the package. It normalizes price across different weights and potencies so products are directly comparable.

The formula: price ÷ (weight_g × THC% × 10)

A product at $0.03/mg delivers roughly three times the THC per dollar compared to one at $0.09/mg — even if the sticker price looks similar. Lower is better value.
Pure Strain Labs currently monitors 105+ Ohio dispensary locations across 41 cities, covering both medical and adult-use stores that publish public online menus. Use the location filter on the Rankings page to show only dispensaries near you.

Coverage expands as new menus are added. If a dispensary you visit is missing, its menu may not be publicly accessible or may not yet be included.
We refresh our pricing and availability on a regular basis. The timestamp on the Rankings page reflects our most recent update. Dispensary prices can change multiple times per day — sales, restocks, daily promos — so always confirm the current price and stock with the dispensary before you visit.
Shake, trim, and ground flower are filtered out before scoring because their THC content and consumer experience differ significantly from whole or small-bud flower — including them would skew the $/mg comparison. Products with missing or zero THC data are also excluded since the value score cannot be calculated without it.
Prices reflect what dispensaries are publicly advertising and are accurate at the time we check, but they can change without notice. The exact same product can sit at different prices across stores, and a daily sale can swing things quickly. Always confirm the final price — including taxes, loyalty discounts, and any applicable promotions — directly with the dispensary or at checkout before purchasing.
